My faves:
- Martha Stewart: "The Internet has taken many readers from newspapers and magazines. We as publishers have to individually determine how our publications can make the leap from print to digital so that we can retain both the computer user and the more traditional reader."

- Chef and farming advocate Dan Barber: "I'd like to sit more often. And write a book. And also eat less sugar late into the night."

- 105-year-old art collector and museum founder Roy Neuberger: "I'm looking forward to the new year. I'm not looking back any more."

Following suit, here are my resolutions.
- Professional: Pursue an executive MPH...or at least get the ball rolling on this. Expand my knowledge and utilization of new and social media. And I'm always looking for big stories or award-winning caliber medical stories to cover in my work in local TV news.

- Personal: Learn how to do this whole "mommy-thing" while maintaining a vibrant professional life, and come up with a new fitness activity that I can do as a new mom, since my line-dancing days are over. Plus, launch a new "mommy-blog." (Watch the side bar for the link!)

- Industry: Find new ways and outlets and support for specialty reporters, such as myself, to do their work and do it well, and to find audiences who want the same. The sad truth is traditional media (newspapers, TV, radio) are facing some tough times, and the pressure for revenue is a palpable priority.
