Dr. Regina Benjamin is Obama's pick to be Surgeon General

Dr. Carl Sirio, a critical care physician at Shadyside Hospital was to run against Dr. Benjamin next year for the American Medical Association's Board of Trustees. "I've known Regina for about 15 years. She's very bright, very energetic, but very thoughtful and very calm. I suspect she'll push the agenda of the underserved, the underpriveleged. But also she's spent a lot of time on ethical issues. Actually I'm kind of excited for her. Because again, if she uses the position well, I think she'll be a great spokesman for health care, for doctors, for patients. I really wish her well."
