Dr. George Gabirel, a cardiologist at Allegheny General Hospital says, "Readmissions to the hospital and hospital care is a big part of the national health care budget. And now everyone is looking to cut costs and lower health care costs. I would have thought that [southwestern Pennsylvania] would score well, but you're taking all hospitals across the region, and there's differences with hospitals, who's taking care of patients, how they're treating patients. Some hospitals are only equipped to triage them, and send them somewhere else to get care."
